cycle 2
Cycle 2 begins! Day of Chemo
She arrived at the doctors at 8am and after waiting around for her blood pressure to lower, Chemo finally began at noon. And lasted until about 5:30pm. It was uneventful and great this time (well for chemo) :)
She is feeling ok, much better then last time, and hopes that next time she can have a room for Chemo instead of being in the triage area being monitored.
Again soooo awesome to see your mom smiling. I see that she is receiving Rituxan (i.e. rituximab)...we call this the miracle drug (very targeted therapy) as it has been so successful in the treatment of and irradicating the big L as well as others with other blood cancers. I have worked on many programs educating docs and patients about this product even before it was approved and still in clinical trials. A very close friend of mine went in a clinical trial many many years ago with Rituxan and he is has been in molecular remission for over 8 years....there are many success stories with this type of treatment regimen and I believe the same will be for your mom......
that is so good to hear cathi! we have heard great things about that drug!
